Plate Merge

Intruction

Plate Merge combine four 96-well plates from a Excel sheet to a single 384-well plate in the same sheet.

Implementation

Plate Merge is deployed as an Add-in of Microsoft Excel application. This add-in will add a new menu to Excel as the following figure shows:
Picture1

The new menu is called “Molecular Biology” and it currently has three menu items:

  • Maek 384-well Plate
  • About

Excel File Requirement

The 384-well plate’s first column is made from alternating cells of the first two 96-well plates. The 384 well plate’s second column is made from alternating cells of the 3rd and 4th 96-well plates. And so on.

In order to run the program correctly, here are some requirements for the Excel file that contains the four 96-well plates:

  • The four 96-well plates must be in the first sheet of the Excel file.
  • The 1st 96-well plate must start from row 1 and column A.
  • The 2nd 96-well plate must start from row 11 and column A.
  • The 3rd 96-well plate must start from row 21 and column A.
  • The 4th 96-well plate must start from row 31 and column A.
The following figure shows the location of the four 96-well plates: Picture1 And the merged 384-well plate will start from row 40 and column A.
